In 1915, our founder and great-grandfather, Andy Raust, established himself as a master craftsman who worked diligently to produce beautiful engravings and designs. His apprentice, Bill McConnell, continued the tradition and opened our first store in Oakland. The following generations have carried on with the same devotion to excellence and service, creating one of a kind custom jewelry, providing top-notch jewelry repair services, and going above and beyond to bring our customers the best colored gemstone and diamond jewelry.

Caring for our customers means caring about the world they live in. That’s why Dave travels to Africa and Israel to hand-select the colored gemstones and diamonds we sell, going as close the source as possible.
Meeting the miners and seeing the sites where colored gemstones are found deep in the African soil means we can confidently present you with the best of the best, providing first-hand knowledge of how these gems are sourced, treated, and transported. It’s also possible to see how our purchases have a direct, positive impact on local communities by creating jobs and changing lives.
In Israel, Dave meets with the diamond cutters directly. This transforms what can be a very anonymous transaction into a real person to person, face to face relationship. Bearing witness to the transformation of rough stones into dazzling finished diamonds adds a level of joy to the process for us and for our customers as well.
